أكد عمار حمدي لاعب الأهلي والمعار لصفوف الاتحاد السكندري، تلقيه عروضًا عديدة قبل الانتقال إلى زعيم الثغر، من بينها بيراميدز، كاشفًا عن تمديد تعاقده مع القلعة الحمراء قبل الرحيل.

وقال حمدي في تصريحات تلفزيونية بفضائية “النهار” عبر برنامج “نمبر وان”: “اخترت الاتحاد السكندري لأنه له فضل علي ومن خلاله يسهل التواجد في المنتخب الأول والأولمبي، اخترت الاتحاد بالرغم من أنني تلقيت عروضًا بأموال أكثر بجانب رغبة طلائع الجيش في استمراري”.

وأضاف: “كان لدي عروض من خارج مصر وكنت أتمنى الانضمام للفريق التركي ولكن الأهلي لم يوافق، تحدثت مع الأهلي لمدة أسبوعين على هذا العرض، وكنت أتمنى التواجد في القلعة الحمراء ولكن أريد المشاركة”.

وكشف: “مددت عقدي سنتين أو ثلاثة مع الأهلي قبل ما انضم للاتحاد السكندري”.

وتابع: “محمد مصليحي يتواصل معي باستمرار وطلب مني التواجد في الاتحاد ولم أتردد، إبراهيم حسن أبلغني أن حسام حسن يريدني في صفوف الفريق، وكنت أتمنى أن أتدرب مع حسام حسن وإيهاب جلال”.

واستكمل: “حسام عاشور تحدث معي، وقال لي أترك الأندية التي تفاوضك لأن المباراة مع الاتحاد بـ100 مباراة من النوادي المعروضة عليك، هو لم يقصد الأهلي”.

واستطرد: “الاتحاد السكندري ناد كبير وجماهيري، وأصبح مثله مثل الأهلي وبيراميدز والزمالك في الإمكانيات”.

وفجر عمار حمدي مفاجأة بشأن العروض التي تلقاها، قائلًا: “استقبلت عرضًا من بيراميدز، من ضمن العروض”.

واختتم: “ابلغت وكيل أعمالي أنني سأبقى في الأهلي أو سأرحل خارج مصر، أو سألعب على سبيل الإعارة للاتحاد السكندري”.

Mohamed Salah wants to leave Liverpool, according to a bombshell claim made by Spanish newspaper AS last week.

The Egypt international is said to have discussed his future with manager Jurgen Klopp as well as the club’s owners.

And there is an agreement, reportedly, that will see Salah placed up for sale in the summer transfer window.

But what would happen if Salah did depart?

Mane thrives

Sadio Mane is cast in a supporting role at Liverpool, currently.

A player with the ability to walk into any team in Europe, Mane has blistering pace and a genuine eye for goal.

Mane, of course, has scored a multitude of pivotal goals this season, most notably at the Allianz Arena, where his emphatic brace sent the Reds into the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

With Salah gone, Mane would become the main man. He would surely be the best player in the club’s attack – he is better than Roberto Firmino – and manager Klopp could potentially shift the Senegal international into a more central role as the club tries to adapt after Salah’s departure.

A summer war chest

The fee for Salah would be gargantuan.

AS do not mention a possible price but they do claim that Real Madrid – the same Real Madrid who employ Sergio Ramos as a player – could “enter the bidding” if Salah became available.

The deal could potentially eclipse that of Neymar’s £200million move to PSG. And that money would then, surely, be available for Klopp to reinvest.

Fenway Sports Group have showcased a willingness to reinvest since Philippe Coutinho’s departure, with the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Alisson all arriving in mega money deals during the year of the Brazilian’s departure.

Liverpool’s owners have struggled to command unanimous popularity amongst the supporters down the years, but their recent exploits in the market suggest they wouldn’t let the fans down if Salah departed in a stunning deal.

Liverpool’s manager, then, would surely be provided with an eyewatering war chest to ease the burden of the Egyptian’s sale.

Liverpool’s press falls apart

Salah leads the charge of the ‘Red Arrows’.

He is constantly at the tip of the spear, looking to hassle and harry opposition defenders.

Closely followed by Firmino and Mane, the front three are the first line of defence for Klopp’s side.

Without Salah, a new player, brought in from a rival, would have to learn that way of playing.

Initially, at least, the club’s press would surely fall apart, and they would be more vulnerable to being picked off.

Selling Salah, then, would be a rather risky move indeed.

Leeds United fans on Twitter are fuming after Sheffield United players were filmed singing a chant about their club during the open top bus parade celebrating their promotion to the Premier League.

The Blades players were broadcast drinking beer and chanting “Leeds are falling apart again” to the tune of Joy Division’s ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’. The chant has been used for many years to mock the Whites and their tendency to start seasons well before falling off.

The chant may never have been more fitting than this season as Marcelo Bielsa’s side failed to win any of their final four games, allowing Sheffield United to clinch promotion to the Premier League, whilst the Whites were resigned to the playoffs.

Leeds fans were understandably frustrated as their bitter rivals rubbed in the fact that they had beaten them by finishing in second.

Supporters took to social media to share their annoyance at the Blades players’ actions.

The "Beast" was anything but by the time he left Manchester.

As we found ourselves aimlessly foraging through the Manchester City archives looking for something to dissect now the season has come to a close (cue jokes about the club having no history – ha, ha ha), we came across one particularly hidden dusty name. Full of anticipation we brushed off the off the proverbial grub, clicked our mouse and stared in astonishment as the name “Alvaro Negredo” was revealed.

Now, we will be the first to admit that the Spaniard – affectionately referred to as the “Beast” – slipped our memory. However, like a smell or taste which ignites a flurry of lost memories, we were soon swamped with vivid recollections of the juggernaut forward barging his way through Premier League defences alongside Argentine marksman Sergio Aguero.

Keep in mind, this was a man who was on a run of 19 goals in 20 games at one point in his fledgeling City career. He’d left dent marks in just about every team that had had the displeasure of encountering him and had sent numerous kids home crying about how life wasn’t far, and how they quote “wanted to take up tennis instead”.

He was a tyrant, so when two inopportune injuries struck during the 2014/15 season we imagine the streets were filled with excitement and celebration. At least they were everywhere other than the Blue side of Manchester.

When his City career came to a grinding halt, Negredo was sent back on loan to Spain, Valencia the suitors. Despite a relatively lukewarm spell, in which he claimed just five goals in 30 appearances, the big man earned himself a permanent transfer to the Mestalla at the end of the 2014/15 campaign.

Like a 1000/1 racehorse which needs to be retired, the Spaniard coughed, spluttered and crashed his way through the following year netting just five times in La Liga before being moved on a temporary deal to none other than Middlesbrough. But this wasn’t the end of his misery, not by any means. The newly promoted Premier League side played a brand of “football” that was, shall we say, not exactly conducive to goalscoring, and after nine goals in 36 league appearances, he was returned to Spain a broken man with soured memories of the English topflight.

Negredo spent a brief spell at Turkish outfit Besiktas before moving to UAE Gulf League side Al-Nasr, where admittedly he seems to have found his level again – scoring 15 times in 17 appearances. Whatever that’s worth. The Gulf League is hardly the pinnacle of sporting glory, is it?

West Ham United supporters have lavished praise on goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski after an exceptional season at the London Stadium.

The Poland international moved to the club last summer following Swansea City’s relegation; the Hammers paid £7million to secure his signature.

He subsequently played in every single Premier League game of the season, keeping seven clean sheets, and was voted as the Irons’ Hammer of the Year, as well as the Signing of the Season.

Per the Premier League, Fabianski also made the most saves in the top-flight with a total of 148 stops, seven more than Cardiff City’s Neil Etheridge.

And supporters have expressed their admiration for the 34-year-old, with Manuel Pellegrini’s side indebted to the performances of the former Arsenal stopper.

The Hammers ultimately finished 10th in the top-flight, just five points behind seventh-placed Wolves, who qualified for the Europa League.
