Both Mariano and Brahim Diaz haven’t really seen much game time at Real Madrid as of late.

The former is yet to tally a single minute in the ongoing 2019/20 season and he was only on the bench once in the process.

The latter’s situation is better but only slightly.

Brahim has featured twice, both times registering just nine minutes of game time along the way for a total of just 18 throughout the whole campaign.

Quite clearly, something has to change and both young talents should probably look for their fortunes elsewhere.

Interestingly enough, a new report from El Chiringuito TV stated that Espanyol are interested in both of them and could take them off Real Madrid’s hands.

But this report also provoked a big discussion from many Real Madrid fans who were quick to voice their opinions on the whole situation on social media.

It seems that some are in favour of a loan deal rather than a permanent one, but there are some who would keep one of the Diaz talents and sell the other.

Republic of Ireland boss Mick McCarthy has confirmed that Troy Parrott will start Monday’s clash with Denmark on the bench but has said that he could have the chance to become a hero, per Irish News.

What’s the word?

Tottenham Hotspur youngster Parrott made his debut for Ireland last week, featuring in the 3-1 friendly win over New Zealand, having played just once for Spurs’ senior side.

However, Monday’s encounter against the Danes brings with it a far higher degree of difficulty.

Indeed, a win for McCarthy’s side would almost certainly see them qualify for Euro 2020, per ESPN, while Denmark are also looking to seal their progress with a victory.

Ireland have not beaten this opposition since 2007 and were thumped 5-1 in a play-off to determine qualification for the 2018 World Cup just two years ago.

McCarthy, though, is hopeful of victory, and Parrott could be given a chance to come off the bench and play a major role in helping his country to next summer’s tournament.

He said: “If the circumstances are right and all the stars are aligned, he might get a chance to come on.

“He might be on the bench and not play and that would be sad for him. [But] It’s an option and when you see his movement, it could be one of those things on a night as it is when it’s made for heroes, he might be the first one.”

Give him a chance, he’ll take it

Parrott is just 17, that must be said.

But at youth level, he’s been scoring goals for Spurs.

He has netted 15 in 13 outings for the U18s, eight in eight for the U19s and four in 13 for the U23s.

The message there is clear: If he gets a chance to score, he’ll likely take it.

And on a night when Ireland will have to be taking the chances that come their way, Parrott could well be their secret weapon off the bench.

A winning goal for the teenager would be what dreams are made of but we’ve seen it happen enough times not to rule it out.

Having hit the back of the net with regularity at junior level for his club, he will be hoping to write his name into folklore at the Aviva Stadium against the Danes.

وردًا على سؤال حول كيفية إدارته لفريقه بدون المشاركة في دوري أبطال أوروبا، قال كلوب: “هذه ليست مشكلة، نحن لسنا أطفالًا في متجر حلوى ولم نحصل على الحلوى الموجودة هناك”.

وأضاف في تصريحات نشرتها شبكة “ليفربول إيكو” الإنجليزية: “نحن مسؤولون عن الوضع الذي نحن فيه ولن يشاهد أحد دوري أبطال أوروبا الموسم المقبل أمام التلفزيون ويبكي إذا لم نشارك”.

وواصل: “هذا هو الوضع في كرة القدم، وهو طبيعي تمامًا، لذلك لن يكون هذا تحديًا، إذا كان شخص ما يعاني من ذلك، آمل أن أرى ذلك وأدركه مبكرًا للتعامل مع الموقف، أنا متأكد من أنني سأتعرف عليه مبكرًا”.

وتابع: “مرة أخرى الأشياء الجيدة التي فعلناها في السنوات القليلة الماضية فعلناها معًا وهذا الموسم قمنا به معًا أيضًا، ورد الفعل على هذا الموسم سنفعله معًا، هذا واضح”.

وأردف: “من الصعب أن نجلس هنا ونتحدث عن عدم مشاركتنا في دوري أبطال أوروبا، لا تزال لدينا فرصة، يجب التركيز على ذلك، من الواضح أن بعض الناس لا يعتقدون أن لدينا فرصة بعد الآن”.

واستفسر: “هل علينا ألا نهتم بهذا الموسم ونتحدث عن الموسم المقبل رغم إنه يتبقى لدينا خمس مباريات؟ هذا غريب بعض الشيء، سنلعب أمام ساوثهامبتون السبت ثم مانشستر يونايتد الخميس، لدينا بعض المباريات القادمة، سنركز بنسبة 100 % على وضعنا لتحقيق أقصى استفادة”.

واختتم: “لدينا بعد ذلك صيف طويل إلى حد ما، لدى البعض منا، سنحاول استغلاله لاستعادة قوتنا ونمتلئ بالطاقة ونعود مرة أخرى الموسم المقبل”.

تحدث مدرب فريق مانشستر سيتي بيب جوارديولا عن حسمهم لقب الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز لهذا الموسم بشكل رسمي.

وحسم مانشستر سيتي مساء أمس لقب الدوري الإنجليزي، بعد خسارة جاره مانشستر يونايتد أمام ليستر سيتي بهدفين لهدف.

وقال جوارديولا في تصريحات نشرها الموقع الرسمي للنادي: “لقد كان هذا الموسم واللقب لا مثيل له، كان هذا هو الأصعب، سنتذكر دائمًا هذا الموسم بالطريقة التي فزنا بها”.

وأضاف الإسباني: “فخور جدًا بكوني المدير الفني هنا وبهذه المجموعة من اللاعبين، إنهم مميزون للغاية، لتجاوز هذا الموسم – مع كل القيود والصعوبات التي واجهناها – وإظهار الاتساق الذي لدينا هو أمر رائع”.

وواصل: “هم لا يتوقفون عن الأداء، هم هنا ليقاتلوا من أجل النجاح، يحاولون دائمًا أن يكونوا أفضل، لقد كانوا مرنين للغاية، هذا ينطبق بنفس القدر على كل فرد من أعضاء فريق العمل لدينا، الذين عملوا بلا كلل خلف الكواليس لضمان أن لاعبينا مجهزون بالكامل لمواجهة التحديات غير المتوقعة والروتين الجديد طوال هذا العام المضطرب”.

West Ham United fans have called for Manuel Pellegrini to leave the club after they lost 3-2 to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Spurs won their first Premier League away game since January, when they defeated Fulham 2-1, at the London Stadium and actually took a 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Son Heung-Min, Lucas Moura and Harry Kane.

Michail Antonio hit the net to bring the Hammers back into the game and Angelo Ogbonna nabbed a second in injury time, though it came too late to have an effect on the game.

The result is the Irons’ third successive defeat and also their seventh consecutive game without a win in the league.

Indeed, in those games, West Ham have scored eight goals and conceded 16.

And fans are hoping that the Hammers powerbrokers either sack the manager or that he decides to walk away.

The joint-winner of the Premier League’s Golden Boot award last season, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been an undeniable success for Arsenal since signing from Borussia Dortmund back in January 2018. The Gabon international has been a prolific goal-scorer for the Gunners, finding the back of the net 50 times in 80 appearances across all competitions.

He has been one of the best poachers in European football for a number of years, and has been similarly prolific this season too. He has already netted nine times in 15 games, but there is a serious question mark over whether he can be more than just a goal-scorer. Against Southampton on Saturday afternoon, the 30-year-old arguably showed some of the more negative aspects to his style of play – the lack of an all-around game to compliment his incredible finishing abilities.

With Southampton understandably sitting deep and trying to play on the counter-attack – a tactic that yielded them 21 total shots on goal despite only having 39% of the possession – Aubameyang wasn’t able to exploit his searing pace as is his main strength. The striker was forced to play a far different game to one he may have wanted to, and unfortunately for both him and Arsenal, he struggled to do so.

As per Sofascore, his 6.3 match rating was the joint-worst of any Arsenal player who took to the pitch, and when looking at his under-lying numbers it is easy to see why. Crucially for the Gunners, he missed one big chance, whilst his inability to get involved in the build-up play meant he was starved of any real service. He had a measly 38 touches, which was the fewest of any member of the north London side who started the game.

Unai Emery’s side desperately needed a centre-forward who could play with his back to goal, and engage some of his midfield teammates like Mesut Ozil. Instead, he couldn’t impose himself on the Southampton defence, and the Arsenal captain was virtually anonymous over the 90 minutes. The Gunners’ defending may once again be the talking point considering how many shots they conceded, but that shouldn’t disguise the fact that one of their star men had a real afternoon to forget.

أكد عمرو الدرديري، المتحدث الرسمي باسم نادي الزمالك، أن الفريق حقق فوزًا هامَا جدًا في توقيت قاتل من مباراته أمام طلائع الجيش.

وفاز الزمالك على طلائع الجيش بهدفين مقابل هدف، في المباراة التي جمعت بينهما مساء الخميس، ضمن منافسات الجولة الثالثة والعشرون من مسابقة الدوري المصري الممتاز.

Tottenham Hotspur booked their spot in the last-16 stage of the Champions League courtesy of a 4-2 win over Olympiacos on Tuesday night.

It is now seven goals in two matches for Spurs since Jose Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino as head coach last week.

Tuesday’s affair did not get off to a good start, though, as the home side found themselves 2-0 behind in the opening 19 minutes.

Mourinho decided to make a change in the 29th minute – introducing Christian Eriksen in place of Eric Dier, and things started to turn for the London club.

Dier has now started both of Spurs’ matches since the new manager came in, but the fact that the England international was replaced so early is not a good sign.

And despite their team going on to collect all three points, a number of the Tottenham fans have slammed Dier for his performance.
