It was one long transfer window for Celtic boss Neil Lennon and it went right down to the wire with the defending Scottish champions concluding their business with a loan swoop for AC Milan defender Diego Laxalt on deadline day.

He became the sixth capture of the summer, joining the likes of Vasilas Barkas, David Turnbull, Shane Duffy and Alban Ajeti in the famous green and white hoops.

These moves will certainly aid the quest to clinch a historic tenth title in a row and they’ll need to get to work straight away as they sit behind arch-rivals Rangers in the SPFL standings, though that could change when the two teams go head-to-head after the international break.

And whilst Lennon’s business stops here, the Bhoys’ recruitment and scouting network will still be looking at players ahead of the January transfer window, which is merely a few months away.

One name stands out too.

According to Football Insider last month, the Parkhead outfit had begun working on a move to sign Queens Park Rangers sensation Bright Osayi-Samuel, who is out of contract in the summer.

That means Celtic can swoop in and tie him down to a pre-contract agreement in the winter transfer window, thus not commanding a fee from Peter Lawwell and Nick Hammond.

The 22-year-old looked set to join Club Brugge for £5m earlier in the summer before the move collapsed and now it’s time for the patient Hoops to make their move.

Osayi-Samuel was an unsung hero next to Eberechi Eze last season, who seemingly took all of the plaudits, as he scored five goals and provided eight assists whilst averaging a whopping 2.9 dribbles and 1.2 shots per game, via WhoScored.

That form has continued into this campaign with the Nigerian-born winger scoring once in the Rs opening four matches, also averaging four dribbles per game.

It’s no wonder he’s received so many glowing endorsements in recent times. Steve McClaren deemed him as a “real star of the future” whilst current boss Mark Warburton hailed his man for being a “real handful” who has “sheer pace that terrifies defenders”.

Osayi-Samuel may be one for next season but that shouldn’t stop the Scottish giants going all out to secure him at the next opportunity.

وتابع: “ما يفعله محمد صلاح في الوقت الحالي هو أمر لا يصدق، يسجل أهدافًا رائعة، يشبه ليونيل ميسي، أعتقد أنه يقوم بنفس الأشياء التي كان يفعلها (الأرجنتيني)”.

وأضاف: “في مباراة الأمس أمام أتلتيكو مدريد وكذلك أمام واتفورد، يفعل كل شيء مع ليفربول، بعيدًا عن الحظ الذي كان معه في تسجيل هدفه الأول”.

وواصل تصريحاته: “لكنه يتخطى مدافعي أتلتيكو مدريد بدون أي مشكلة، رغم قوتهم المعروفة، لكنه يستمتع بلعبه في المباريات، بالنسبة لي، فهو أفضل أداء أراه من لاعب في أوروبا”.

وعن تجديد عقد محمد صلاح: “إذا كنت مسئولًا في ليفربول، كنت سأفعل كل شيء للحفاظ على جميع اللاعبين لفرض مزيد من الاستقرار وثبات التشكيل وهو ما يشعر اللاعب بالارتياح بجانب زملائه الحاليين”.

Forget about Tavernier for one second though – his teammate Kemar Roofe stole the show after scoring an outrageous goal in the 2-0 win over Standard Liege in the Europa League. It’s one of those goals that has to be seen to be believed.

The Rangers boss singled out Roofe for praise for his ridiculous effort. He said: “The goal was a moment of genius. It was a world class moment. I’ve been playing football professionally since 1998 and it’s the best goal I’ve ever seen live.

“He collects the ball 15 yards outside our box. He is strong for two challenges. He holds the player off for the third challenge and then he takes the player on in the worst conditions I’ve seen.

“Then to have the vision, and the power and the class to score from 55 yards. I don’t think I’ve seen a better goal and I don’t think I will see a better goal.”

Per SofaScore, the 27-year-old won 50% of his duels overall, took one shot on target and completed one successful dribble attempt, whilst he took made one tackle and took 13 touches of the ball, which shows that he contributed defensively as well.

Roofe’s goal is arguably one of the greatest goals of all time, let alone one of the greatest goals in the club’s history. In fact, it’s the stuff that dreams are made of, the kind of goal every child dreams about at night. But his brief cameo shows that he has so much more to offer and shows that Gerrard has options at the top of the pitch.

“He knew fine well the goalie would be off his line, and that was an absolutely magnificent hit.

Rangers are enjoying a 15-game unbeaten run, stretching back to the 1-0 win against Aberdeen at the start of the season. If Gerrard’s side are to regain their title, we suspect that the £4m-rated ace may have an important part to play.

-Eu sou coronel da Polícia Militar do Pará e também sou bacharel em Direito, conheço bastante. É difícil a gente se manifestar sem conhecer os autos. A gente vê as notícias daqui e de lá. Ninguém vai acreditar ou desacraditar. Eu quero me manifestar quando tiver acesso aos autos.

O Coronel Nunes garantiu estar ciente de que pode “herdar” a presidência da CBF em caso de renúncia de Del Nero. O dirigente garantiu que abrirá diálogo com as demais partes:

– Eu estou acompanhando o processo. A Fifa pode afastar o Marco Polo, pode não afastar. Seria ingênuo eu te dizer que não estou acompanhando. A gente tem condições, sim. Se de repente eu tiver que assumir em definitivo, aí eu tenho que chamar as pessoas de bem e ouvir os projetos delas. Não é o Coronel Nunes que vai decidir tudo sozinho.

Aos seus olhos, Dunga seguirá com seu trabalho à frente da Seleção Brasileira. Coronel Nunes disse que o desempenho do treinador é positivo:

-Não vou ser o carrasco de chegar e mudar o técnico da nossa seleção, que é uma paixão nacional.Vou te falar: eu conheço o Dunga, é uma pessoa muito séria. Aquele tom de austeridade que a gente vê no semblante do Dunga é o mesmo do tempo que ele era jogador. Acho até agora que está indo bem.

رفض ديفيد ألابا لاعب فريق ريال مدريد المقارنة مع سيرجيو راموس، قائد النادي الملكي السابق، والذي رحل في الصيف الماضي إلى باريس سان جيرمان.

ألابا انضم إلى ريال مدريد الصيف الماضي قادمًا من بايرن ميونخ، في صفقة انتقال حر بعد نهاية عقده مع النادي الألماني الذي قضى معه 13 عامًا.

وقال دافيد الابا في تصريحات لصحيفة “كيكر” الألمانية: “سعيد بتسجيلي في الكلاسيكو، كان أمرًا رائعًا، كان أول لقاء لي في الكلاسيكو، وتلقيت العديد من الرسائل لتهنئتي”.

وعن تأقلمه مع ريال مدريد: “لدي منزل في مدريد، وأشعر براحة كبيرة هنا، لكن زملائي في الفريق جعلوا الأمر أسهل بالنسبة لي، كذلك عائلتي تشعر بالراحة”.

وشدد: “أتحدث كثيرًا مع روبرتو كارلوس عن كرة القدم والحياة في ريال مدريد، وكذلك راؤول جونزاليس مدرب فريق الشباب، تعلمت الكثير في ريال مدريد من خلالهما”.

وعن القاسم المشترك بين ريال مدريد وبايرن ميونخ، قال: “كلاهما يمثل النجاح المطلق، ولكن في ريال مدريد كل شيء أكبر بكثير، تشعر بعراقة كبيرة هنا، دون التقليل من بايرن ميونخ واحترامه”.

وعن الاختلافات بين الدوري الألماني والإسباني: “في إسبانيا الأمر مختلف، ليفانتي وألافيس يحاولون لعب كرة القدم من الخلف، وتكتيكات مختلفة، ولكن في ألمانيا الأمر أكثر وضوحًا ومباشرة، ولا يهتمون بالاستحواذ مثل إسبانيا”.

ورفض المقارنة مع سيرجيو راموس: “لقد جئت إلى هنا لكتابة تاريخ خاص بي، لا أتعامل مع تلك المقارنات التي يصنعها البعض، أنا مختلف عن راموس، ومن الصعب المقارنة بيننا”.

وأشاد ببنزيما: “كريم لديه مقومات رائعة، أراه كل يوم في صالة الألعاب الرياضية، يتجدد ويعتني بجسده، إنه مصدر إلهام لأنه من أوائل الواصلين إلى التدريبات كل يوم، وفي المباريات الجميع يرى كم هو مهمًا بالنسبة لنا”.

وشدد: “كل ما ذكرته عن كريم، أستطيع أن أقوله على ليفاندوفسكي، نجوم يقودون أنديتهم ولا تخلوا عواطفهم من الجوع والطموع والعمل”.

وعن أهدافه مع ريال مدريد: “طموحنا في دوري الأبطال لا يتغير، نحن ريال مدريد، ولا يمكننا أن نتوقف عن السعي لتحقيق هذا اللقب، كذلك الدوري الإسباني، لقد ولد ريال مدريد ليكون ناجحًا وبطلًا”.

وبعيدًا عن ريال مدريد، رشح ألابا 4 أندية للفوز بدوري أبطال أوروبا هذا الموسم: “بايرن ميونخ بل شك وليفربول وكذلك تشيلسي وباريس سان جيرمان، ولكن مازال الطريق طويل وليس من السهل الوصول إلى النهائي والفوز به، هناك العديد من المهام الصعبة”.

واختتم عن سبب عدم التجديد لـ بايرن ميونخ، قال: “أنا ممتن للنادي لما قدمه لي طوال الـ13 عامًا، لقد أكدت دائمًا عى هذا، ولا أريد التفكير بالأشياء السلبية”.

But under Smith’s guidance at Villa Park, he has developed into an impressive central midfielder, so much so that the club announced that Brazil had called him up again for their senior side for the upcoming internationals. It will see him more than likely add to the first two caps he has already earned.

Described as “unbelievable” by his club boss, journalist Gregg Evans hailed him earlier in the summer after a particularly impressive performance against Manchester United.

He said: “He’s an absolute joy to watch now and I never thought I would be saying that. Villa have got a fantastic player in Douglas Luiz now, he looks like an absolute star, he could have played in that Man United team.

When he gets the ball, he passes it nicely. He’s the best player in that Villa team at the moment because it’s just not working for John McGinn.”

With yet more international caps for a footballing giant like Brazil to come, it just goes to show that former sporting director, Suso, got an absolute steal in signing Luiz for just £15m last year.

Southampton were handed a big boost earlier this week as Spanish midfielder Oriol Romeu committed to a new contract with the South Coast club, but the Saints must not rest on their laurels and should now prioritise extending Ryan Bertrand’s contract.

The defensive midfielder’s contract had been set to extend at the end of this campaign but has now signed on till the end of the 2023 season (per Southampton).

It means that of Ralph Hasenhuttl’s first-team regulars, only Bertrand’s contract is set to expire at the end of the current season and Saints should do everything they can to ensure that he doesn’t depart on a free transfer next summer.

The 31-year-old joined Southampton from Chelsea in February 2015 and has been a regular for the Saints in his five-and-a-half years with the club; making 214 appearances, in which he has contributed eight goals and 19 assists (per Transfermarkt).

Bertrand has been a regular for Hasenhuttl’s side so far this season, having appeared in seven of their eight Premier League fixtures thus far, in which he has averaged a solid, if unspectacular, 6.68 rating (per WhoScored).

The former England international picked up an injury in Villa’s recent win against Aston Villa and it is unknown when he is going to return, which could be a big blow for the South Coast club, as other than Bertrand, they have just 20-year-old Jake Vokins currently available as a natural left-back in their squad.

This suggests that left-back is not a position which Hasenhuttl has a lot of options in, so the club must ensure they are not left short-handed next season if they let Bertrand depart on a free transfer.

Although he is now 31-years-old, the fact he has still been a regular in the Southampton side which has performed so well so far this season demonstrates that he still has the ability to play at the top level.

Reports last month suggested Danny Ings was set to sign a new long-term contract at St Mary’s, but with his deal running until 2022 currently, there are arguably bigger priorities.

Hopefully, after Romeu’s contract was sorted this week, the club will begin negotiations over a new contract for the £9.45 million-rated Bertrand in the near future.
