Tottenham Hotspur target Tosin Adarabioyo is 'admired' by Ange Postecoglou and could become a 'priority' signing this window as the Lilywhites try to strengthen their backline, according to Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor.
Is Tosin Adarabioyo heading to Tottenham Hotspur?
Football London journalist Alisdair Gold has delivered a promising update surrounding the potential destination of Fulham defender Adarabioyo on Twitter X, stating: "Also understand there is a growing expectation Spurs will make a bid for Fulham's Tosin Adarabioyo as one CB arrival. The 25-year-old is believed to be keen on the move and Spurs have shown a lot of interest in him. Again, they can't hang around though."
Nevertheless, journalist Simon Phillips has claimed on his Substack that Chelsea are considering a surprise move for the £40k-a-week ace this summer, with Mauricio Pochettino looking to solidify his own defence at Stamford Bridge. Monaco star Axel Disasi and Cobham youth product Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace are two alternative names under consideration for the Blues.
Last term, Adarabioyo, who was hailed as "immense", was a solid presence for Fulham and made 29 appearances across all competitions, registering a solitary goal, as per Transfermarkt. Interestingly, he is the biggest player in his agency (Closeview), according to Transfermarkt, with his price value sitting at around £13.5 million on there.
CaughtOffside have revealed that Spurs' negotiations with regard to further defensive targets Micky van de Ven and Edmond Tapsoba, who play in the Bundesliga for Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen, respectively, have stalled over differences in valuation.
Former loanee Clement Lenglet remains a possible recruit this window while Tottenham have also 'asked for information' on Adarabioyo's situation at Craven Cottage.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Daily Express journalist Taylor has confirmed that Adarabioyo is definitely someone who Spurs are keen on this summer.
Taylor stated: “There's strong interest in Tosin, the Fulham centre-back who was left out of the squad to face Brentford in Philadelphia.
"I think he's a player that ticks the homegrown quota, he’s admired by Spurs and it looks like he can leave Fulham this summer, as he's only got one year left on his deal. So I think they're the two that will probably be the priority, Micky van de Ven and Adarabioyo.”
Who else could join Tottenham Hotspur this summer?
Spurs boss Postecoglou will be keen to build on his promising transfer window in north London so far that has seen James Maddison, Guglielmo Vicario and Manor Solomon arrive on Hotspur Way. Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro have also joined the Lilywhites permanently following initial loan spells, as per Transfermarkt.
Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has emerged as a candidate to join the cavalry of new additions at Tottenham; however, it is said that West Ham United hold confidence that they can fend off interest from elsewhere to land the England international, according to The Evening Standard.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri has claimed that Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani could crop up on Postecoglou's radar this window if Harry Kane is sold to Bayern Munich and it is believed that the Frenchman would be keen to join Tottenham.
Tottenham are also considering a move for Flamengo striker Pedro as Kane's future at the club hangs in the balance with a year left to run on his contract, as per The Independent.
David Warner admits the incident in which he punched Joe Root in a Birmingham bar four years ago was “pivotal” to his development as a cricketer and a man.Warner, the Australia vice-captain, was fined and suspended after the incident during the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy, following England’s defeat of Australia. But now, four years to the day since the event and back in Birmingham to play England in a must-win Champions Trophy fixture on Saturday, he reflected on the episode as a key learning experience in a career that has risen to new levels in recent times.”It was a learning curve for myself,” Warner said. “I was young and now I’m old. I’ve two kids and I’m married. There’s a lot of settling down there.”It definitely was [pivotal] to me becoming the person I am today; not just the cricketer. We all go through periods when we’re young and naïve. It’s not about stuffing up and moving on, it’s about learning the ropes of being away on tour for such a long period of time. There are things you have to think about as a youngster: what you can or can’t I do.”I probably didn’t work that out at that stage. But now I have and I have a great balance on and off the field.”A fan’s t-shirt references the David Warner-Joe Root incident from 2013•Getty Images
There’s little disputing that Warner is a more consistent player. As well as being rated No. 2 in the ODI batting rankings – he recentlybecame the third-fastest man in history to 4000 ODI runs – Warner finished the recent IPL season as the top run-scorer and is placed at No. 7 in the ICC’s Test batting rankings. Such is his growing maturity, he has been promoted to vice-captain of the Australia side, been a eloquent critic of Cricket Australia’s plans to abandon the revenue-sharing model and earned the nickname ‘Rev’ – short for The Reverend David Warner – by colleagues who have marvelled at his change in behaviour since he gave up alcohol a couple of years ago. He used to be nicknamed ‘Bull’ for pretty obvious reasons.”The bull can still come out here and there,” he admitted. “It just depends on what day you get me. Most of the time, I’m probably the reverend – as they say – but look, it’s about winning games for Australia and being the best person I can around the team and around people outside cricket.”While Warner said he would be happy to revisit the Walkabout bar where the incident happened and shake Root’s hand, he did hint that he felt his side of the incident wasn’t fully recognised. There was a suggestion at the time that Warner felt Root, who was playing with a wig, was mocking South Africa’s Muslim batsman Hashim Amla. It is a suggestion strongly denied by Root and his colleagues, who insist Root was making fun of himself, his infamously youthful complexion and his inability to grow facial hair.”People didn’t look too far or deep into it to see who was in the right or wrong,” Warner said. “But that’s all gone, it’s in the past and we can tell a happily ever after story at the end of my career.”If they [at Walkabout] give me a couple of free drinks, some diet cokes, and the rest of the boys they can shout them a table. And if I see Joe I’ll give him a handshake.”
Bengal knocked Maharashtra out in a last-over thriller chasing 319 while Jharkhand dismantled Vidarbha for 159 as both teams marched into the knockouts

With three needed off three balls, and a spot in the Vijay Hazare semi-final up for grabs, Aamir Gani pulled off a delightful inside-out cover drive for four to ensure Bengal chased down their target of 319 in style.Gani’s cameo followed sturdy contributions from the top order as Shreevats Goswami (74 off 88 balls), Anustup Majumdar (66 off 59 balls) and Sudip Chatterjee (unbeaten on 60 off 51 balls) all made half-centuries and did an excellent job keeping up with the asking rate. That meant Maharashtra were knocked out of the knockouts, and that Rahul Tripathi (95 off 74 balls) and Nikhil Naik’s (63 off 52 balls) efforts were in vain. They had smashed 109 runs in the last 10 overs to put a strong total on the board, and then their bowlers had pushed Bengal pretty hard in the chase as well. Shrikant Mundhe dismissed the set batsman Majumdar in the 49th over to force the equation to 15 needed off 10 balls with five wickets in hand and Shamshuzama Kasi struck with the third ball of the final over. The next one, however, was smashed for the match-winning boundary.Bengal would have to face the MS Dhoni-led Jharkhand in the semi-final on Friday, a six off his bat making sure his team would be one of the final four. The six-wicket victory though was set up by the bowlers who reduced Vidarbha to 159 for 9 after they had chosen to bat first. Only Ravi Jangid (62 off 87) and Ganesh Satish (35 off 54) made any contributions of note. Rajneesh Gurbani, the No. 9, did his best to make 22 off 70 balls so that Vidarbha at least played out their quota of overs. Considering they were 18 for 4 at one point, that was something of a consolation for Faiz Fazal and his men.Jharkhand’s Monu Kumar was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 27. Varun Aaron (1 for 41) and Shahbaz Nadeem was at his stifling best, picking up 1 for 13 from eight overs. Their good work was supported by the batsmen with Ishank Jaggi top-scoring with 41 off 61 balls and remaining unbeaten.
Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews has been ruled out of the Test series against Bangladesh as the hamstring injury that has ailed him since January 22 continues to pose problems. Sri Lanka’s selectors are expected to name the Test squad on Tuesday, and with it, the replacement captain. This will be the second Test series Mathews has missed over a six-month span, with multiple leg injuries also having prevented him from touring Zimbabwe in October and November. He had played a substantial amount of cricket in the two years leading up to this period, representing Sri Lanka in all three formats, as well as leading the team in the 2015 World Cup, in last year’s World T20, and in Tests.Rangana Herath had filled in as captain during the Zimbabwe Test series, and it is possible he will be picked for the role again. However, regular vice-captain Dinesh Chandimal – who had also missed the Zimbabwe tour through injury – may also be considered for the captaincy in this series. Upul Tharanga, who led Sri Lanka in the recent ODIs against South Africa and the T20s in Australia, represents a third option. Neither Chandimal or Tharanga have previously led Sri Lanka in a Test. The first Test starts in Galle from March 7, before the action moves to the P Sara Oval, from March 15.A Sri Lanka Cricket release said Mathews was “likely” to be available for the ODI and T20 series that follow the Tests.
Chelsea's frustrating search for a new holding midfielder to replace N'Golo Kante may see them go down a different route entirely.
Kante is set to join Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad, while midfield partner Mateo Kovacic has long been linked with a move to Premier League champions Manchester City.
Brighton and Hove Albion's Moises Caicedo is widely considered to be top of Mauricio Pochettino's wishlist, but the Seagulls are reportedly seeking a fee in the region of £100m.
For that reason, 90min reports that the Blues are now looking elsewhere for potential back-ups, with Inter Milan's Nicolo Barella one possible option.
Where would Nicolo Barella fit in at Chelsea?
If Chelsea move for Barella, they are not bringing in a like-for-like replacement for Kante as such. After all, the Inter midfielder ranks in the bottom 4% for interceptions and bottom 36% for tackles, as per FBref, among his positional peers across Europe's top five leagues.
Instead, they would be signing a player who is very similar in profile to Real Madrid's long-serving midfield superstar Luka Modric. The pair each averaged 0.21 goals per 90 minutes last season, while Barella slightly edged things in terms of assists (0.21 v 0.15).
Barella completed 81.6% of his passes, compared to 87.8% for Modric, and he also just about came out on top in terms of tackles won per 90 minutes (0.86 v 0.46) and blocks (1 v 0.77).
Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric.
It is in terms of goal-creating actions, which takes factors such as passes and take-ons prior to a goal being scored, that the pair's similar playing styles can be highlighted, averaging as they do 0.45 and 0.46 per 90 minutes.
Italy international Barella was named Serie A Midfielder of the Year in 2022-23 and also showcased his talents in Inter's run to the Champions League final. Indeed, among other impressive stats, he covered 135.1km of ground in the competition, second only to AC Milan's Sandro Tonali (139.4km).
As Italian football expert James Horncastle put it during Inter's quarter-final tie with Benfica, Barella really was "everywhere" on the field.
Fellow writer Carlo Garganese went further by describing the 26-year-old – who is also wanted in a £50m swoop by Newcastle United, according to The Telegraph – as a "monster" because of his energetic displays.
If Enzo Fernandez is in the team to bring some calm in the midfield engine room, then Barella could be the perfect choice to sit alongside him, carry the ball forward and make something happen in the final third while te Argentine sits back and dictates proceedings.
Ranked as he is in the top 8% for non-penalty goals among midfielder's across Europe's top five leagues, and top 11% for assists, Barella is the Modric-like upgrade Chelsea are crying out for this summer.

Manchester United are now keeping tabs on Moussa Diaby – but it's unclear how they'll act on the interest until their ownership situation is sorted, according to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg.
Are Man United signing Moussa Diaby?
The Bayer Leverkusen man has been excellent this year in Germany, with nine goals and eight assists so far in the Bundesliga, having played on both flanks and also as a second striker at times. Regardless of position, he has been able to continually hit the back of the net – and that is something United will want in their own frontline.
The Red Devils have already made it clear that they want to add another midfielder and a striker to their ranks this summer, with the club desperate to add more goals to their ranks. With only Marcus Rashford managing above ten efforts in the Premier League this season, it means Erik ten Hag could certainly use another option in that forward line to pillage some goals.
Moussa Diaby
Now, it appears their search for a forward option could have led them to Diaby. According to Plettenberg, the Red Devils are monitoring his current situation and are keeping tabs on the player. However, it appears that is as far as the interest goes, and what happens next could largely depend on the ownership situation at Old Trafford.
He wrote: "He‘s on the list of @NUFC but understand that it was not advanced in the last months.
"@ManUtd is monitoring his situation instead and confirmed. Next steps depend on the club‘s ownership.
"Bayer‘s price valuation between €70-80m. Contract until 2025. Key player for Alonso."
Right now, there is a tussle for the ownership of Man United and it could drag on for a while yet. The Glazers finally appear to be willing to sell up and it has led to two bidders emerging as potential contenders to take the reins at the club.
One is Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is vying for around 69% of the club; and Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani, who wants full ownership of the Red Devils. This bidding war rages on and as of yet, it is unclear who will take over and no deal has yet been completed – and it now appears to be affecting some of their transfer business, at least as far as Diaby is concerned.
Should Man United sign Moussa Diaby?
The Red Devils are certainly in need of some more goals in their ranks and Diaby would add plenty of those if his season with Bayer Leverkusen is anything to go by.
To add on to his total in the Bundesliga, he has also managed three in seven in the Europa League – showing his ability to produce on the European stage – and he has a further two in the Champions League. It shows that, regardless of the platform, he is still capable of maintaining his high standards and performing and scoring goals.
He's also been praised by football talent scout Jacek Kulig, who stated that the winger has been "fantastic" in Germany since his move over to his current club.
Diaby then offers versatility in attack with his ability to play across the frontline and has also got goals in his boots – so if United did manage to make a bid for him and did opt to do so, he could be a fantastic signing for the Red Devils, but whether they are willing to part with around £61m for him remains to be seen.
Legal counsel for the USA Cricket Association (USACA) has sent former executive secretary Kenwyn Williams a cease and desist letter, ordering him to refrain from filing a temporary restraining order against Broward County Florida
Peter Della Penna22-Jun-2016Legal counsel for the USA Cricket Association (USACA) has sent former executive secretary Kenwyn Williams a cease and desist letter, ordering him to refrain from filing a temporary restraining order against Broward County Florida over the sanctioning of Caribbean Premier League (CPL) matches scheduled for next month at the Central Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill. Williams had sent an email on June 13 asking the County to cancel the six CPL matches and in the days since has progressively stepped up his threats to sue the county over the sanctioning of the matches.”You have no authority to bring this lawsuit or other legal action in the name of USACA or any of its regions or members,” Marshall Beil, USACA’s representing attorney at the law firm McGuire Woods, LLP, wrote to Williams in an email on Tuesday afternoon. USACA president Gladstone Dainty, ICC head of global development Tim Anderson and Broward County officials were also copied on the email, which has been obtained by ESPNcricinfo. “No suit has been authorized by USACA or any subdivision of USACA. You are not an officer or director of USACA, and you are not authorized to act on behalf of USACA or any region or subdivision of USACA.”USACA demands that you cease and desist from threatening and/or instituting legal action in the name of USACA or any region, league or member of USACA. If you proceed with your threatened action, USACA will inform the court of your complete lack of standing and authority to sue and will hold you personally responsible for any damages, costs and fees, including legal fees, your actions may cause.”The current imbroglio involving Williams and USACA was set in motion on June 9, when USACA vice president Owen Grey issued a letter to the ICC informing it that USACA would “take action” against the ICC’s continued suspension of it. Grey stated that USACA had appointed Williams to represent it in a legal capacity and that Williams would be the USACA delegate attending this month’s ICC annual conference in Scotland.Williams then sent Broward County and CPL officials the June 13 email in which he asked them to cancel the six CPL matches at the end of July, claiming that the county had not pursued proper sanctioning. The ICC had stripped USACA of its sanctioning authority for games in the USA in June 2015 at the time of its administrative suspension, though Williams claimed in his letter to county officials that USACA continues to maintain sanctioning authority and it had yet to be sought from USACA.According to documents obtained by ESPNcricinfo, Williams sent a subsequent email on June 14, notifying Broward County officials that he was intending to pursue litigation against Broward County Parks & Recreation manager Duncan Finch for “being in violation of the sanctioning policy of USA Cricket” and that in order to avoid “unnecessary litigation” Williams was reaching out to achieve “an amicable resolution to this dispute”.”As we believe that we will suffer irreparable harm, we do intend to seek a court order granting a preliminary injunction,” Williams wrote to Patrice Eichen of the Broward County Attorney’s Office. Eichen responded on June 16, telling Williams that the County had issued a sanctioning permit to the CPL for the six matches.”The County has determined that CPL has complied with or is in the process of complying with the County’s requirements related to issuance of a Park Permit to host the events at CBRP,” Eichen wrote. “The County does not believe there is any violation of County policies to justify taking action to stop the upcoming events.”Williams then responded once again on Monday, June 20, attaching a draft document for a temporary restraining order in which USACA’s Southeast Regional board – which represents Florida among other states – is listed as a plaintiff in proposed legal action against proposed defendants Broward County Parks and Recreation, Finch and Lauderhill mayor Richard Kaplan. In the draft seeking injunctive relief, Williams repeatedly bases his course for action on a position that USACA still maintains sanctioning authority for matches in the USA.”All cricket matches in the USA or cricket events held in the USA require the approval of USACA unless they are already specifically approved or pre-approved,” the draft document states. “Defendants have intervened and bypassed the sanction procedures of USACA to partner directly with the CPL to tortuously interfere with USACA’s business relationship, causing irreparable injury to plaintiffs’ revenue potential and reputation.”Among the other claims made in the draft document sent by Williams to Broward County officials threatening a lawsuit are that USACA is a non-profit organization which “derives its revenue in part from grants and sanction fees from cricket events”. As such, the proposed legal action argues that the “defendants’ planned cricket events are of a high commercial value and will deprive USACA of substantial revenue needed to promote cricket to its thousands of members throughout the USA,” and, furthermore, that such legal action would be in the public’s interest.”Plantiffs will also lose the credibility to conduct business with other third parties if they can cut out the sanctioning procedures of USACA, thereby causing irreparable injury and loss of substantial revenue to plaintiffs,” the proposed suit says. “Defendants are holding a sporting event for entertainment purposes for a small demographic of fans. The events if enjoined will not disserve the public interest. The members of USACA as well as the members in the Southeast Region will be more disserved if defendants are not enjoined.”However, USACA’s own legal rebuttal from Beil contradicts Williams’ view that legal action against Broward County would serve USACA positively. As of now, Williams has yet to follow through on officially filing the proposed suit in Broward County.Meanwhile, Grey has told ESPNcricinfo that Williams still has the support of the board to act as a legal liaison for USACA and Beil’s directive does not necessarily represent the majority view of the USACA board.”I am aware of [Beil’s] letter,” Grey said. “However, USACA’s lawyer was instructed to do so by Gladstone Dainty, not the board of directors. An emergency BOD [meeting] is scheduled to address this issue.”
